Danny Lane

Six is Nine H324 x W112.5cm

12mm hammer chipped glass sculpture

InSitu collaborated with Danny Lane, a leading exponent of architectural glass sculpture, facilitating a client visit to his studio before selecting his three metre high work Six is Nine for their ground floor space in the City of London. The studio visit enabled the art committee to engage more fully with the process involved in creating the work and established a  connection. Danny later gave a talk to a wider audience at their offices when the work was installed for a period of six months. Lane is a pioneering American glass artist based in the UK with several prestigious public art commissions worldwide. His work is in the collections of London Underground and the Victoria & Albert Museum.

InSitu manage large scale sculpture programmes for the public spaces of  buildings. Artworks enhance ground floor receptions and communal areas enjoyed by a cross section of tenants and visitors as part of wider art engagement strategies. Sculpture programmes are open ended, with individual artists exhibiting their work at intervals of 4 - 6 months at a time.
